When does the christmas holiday start for U.S soldiers in korea and how long does it last? ?
Im trying to go to australia for the christmas holiday and would like some answers from people that has actually has been in korea and can tell me they’ree christmas holiday here
Bottom line is it all depends on the Soldier’s unit, the unit’s mission and other leave requests. A Soldier’s holiday will coincide with the holiday we celebrate here in the states.
I am currently in the military and I was stationed in Korea for a year; the holiday starts like any other holiday in the US.
US Soldiers have to request leave or time off and it has to be approved by their superiors. The duration of a Soldier’s leave depends on how much leave they’ve accrued or saved. If the mission allows a Soldier to take time off during the holidays, then usually his/her request is granted; again, it’s based on the unit’s mission and the other leave requests.
Sometimes Soldiers don’t get their requests honored on the days most of us would celebrate our holidays, but they should be provided some time off either before or after the traditional holiday time period.
Soldiers are not deprived leave (they may not receive the leave when they request it) and their superiors do their best to honor each individual Soldier’s leave request.
I hope this helps and that you have a great holiday.
In Christ’s love.
